Eddie Joe was thrilled to learn that he was accepted into a competitive college. It was the reaction of his peers that he found troubling, and that made him question whether he deserved the acceptance he received.
Not a day goes by when Darius is not painfully aware of racism. When two people he had considered his friends laughed about the murder of George Floyd by a police officer, he began to question if he belonged in college.
